VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Pay: $21 – $25 an hour

Shift and schedule: Overnight shift, 10 hour shift, No weekends, No nights, Monday to Friday
POSITION OVERVIEW
Well established, PRIVATELY OWNED, companion animal practice in South Anchorage is seeking a compassionate and organized individual to join our team as a veterinary technician, 20+ hours/week. Our general practice currently supports 1-2 veterinarians.

We offer a diverse case load including medicine, dentistry, and surgery with digital radiography, and in-house blood chemistry and urine analyzers. NO night or weekend calls (emergencies and overnight critical care hospitalization referred to local emergency clinics), and management that understands the importance of work-life balance. You WILL be able to leave on time
- Experience required as either veterinary technician or technician assistant, credentialed technician preferred.
- Applicants must possess a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology and sufficient mathematical skills to ensure the administration of accurate drug and fluid doses.
- They must be able to successfully restrain animals, complete clinical laboratory tests, use multiple radiology techniques, administer and monitor animals under anesthesia, assist in surgery, and perform dental procedures.
- Technicians must also deliver compassionate nursing care.
